Message	installed the T-bolt clamps on my intake hoses. I didn't change them and they still don't leak. What you have posted makes a good argument, but the edges of my clamps turn up and help stiffen the "bridge" so it can span the "no pressure zone". The lined worm gear clamps solve the issue of chewing up the hose, but the worm is still not as secure as a T-bolt.
